Our next yurt building workshop will be offered August 14th and 15th .  We will be teaching people how to build all yurt parts.  All participants will leave the workshop with knowledge about building their own yurt, the complete yurt building manual, and a roof ring that they assembled and finished on their own.

We will offer lots of tips and suggestions, and participants should leave the workshop with first hand experience and knowledge about how all yurt parts come together (including the yurt cover and all frame parts).  We feel that because the roof ring is the most challenging frame piece to build, it will benefit all participants to make it on site.

The cost for the workshop is the cost of the ring plus $100 to help cover costs incurred by workshop (food, materials, instructors, printing of the manual, etc.)  We will have a limit of 8 people at our workshop.

Introduction to Yurts and Yurt Living

v     Circle in the Yurt for meet and greet

v     Workshop partcipants share their vison of the yurt they will build

v     Basic information about yurts and yurt parts

Making yurt frame parts

v     Making khanna pieces demonstration

v     Yurt khanna assembly

v     Rafter demonstration

v     Finishing off/ sanding staining of ring/ khanna/ rafters

Evening activities

Dinner and campfire at Laurel Nest community.  Please bring guitars, drums, digeridoo… hula hoops provided. J
